Laravel Developer

Orderswift

Hello 👋

Thanks for checking out our job post. We are Orderswift and we make the finest software for restaurants. We've been around for a while, since 2013 in fact, and have since grown to one of the market leading software companies for restaurants in the UK. Our core product allows restaurants to take orders online, be that for collection, delivery or even at table dining. The demand for our product has grown hugely over the last year (who knew a global pandemic would do that 🤔) and now we are looking to grow our technology team.

The person we are looking for will help push Orderswift forward as we make our product more robust and expand internationally. You will be part of a small remote team developing the core technology of our platform.

What we are looking for

We are looking for someone with experience but who is also willing to grow, so you should have multiple years of experience with the majority of the below, and a healthy appetite to learn about the ones you don’t know:

  • Solid and up to date knowledge of Laravel (3+ years recommended)
  • Working with API's
  • Writing tests & QA protocols
  • Solving problems and troubleshooting
  • Thrive with a mix of self-direction, teamwork and direct instruction
  • Knowledge of the Laravel ecosystem (specifically Forge and Horizon)
  • Happy to work with our non-technical teams on first line support when issues arise
  • Strong experience with MySQL or similar
  • We are looking for full time, 40 hours a week
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English
  • Experience with React (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Experience with infrastructure/devops (desirable but not mandatory)
  • Someone who is friendly and has a passion in creating great products

What we are offering

  • The position is full time (40 hours/week)
  • We offer competitive pay based on skillset and experience
  • We are a fully remote company, no office to commute into, no dress code to deal with. We do zoom calls regularly, but otherwise we focus on results.
  • Reasonably flexible hours. We are based in the UK and Europe but we are open to working with others in other timezones. We don’t need to fully overlap, but we would like someone that will keep to a schedule with at least 50% of UK/European working hours.
  • A dynamic team environment, working with smart, practical people with the common objective of making the best product we can.
