Senior Java Architect

We build JSON APIs in Java Spring Boot that run inside of Docker containers in Kubernetes running in the Google Cloud Platform (there, we got the buzzwords out in one sentence). As the Senior Java Architect you will be responsible for the backend engineering team, ensuring that we are making smart technical decisions as we grow. You will be responsible for designing and building scalable systems to meet the needs of both the customer and other teams which consume these services. You will also be expected to collaborate with each team member as a mentor helping them to grow as successful developers and colleagues. It is very important to us that we lead by example which means that to succeed, you will spend a substantial amount of your time writing and reviewing code.

The Senior Java Architect role reports directly to the VP of R&D.

An ideal candidate will have:

• Multiple years experience working on a SAAS product in a senior engineering capacity
• Technical leadership experience
• Experience working in and designing micro service architectures
• Experience building production APIs in Java Spring Boot
• Experience running production systems in Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud Platform
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
