We are looking for a Software Engineer to help us build and improve our internal runtime tooling and developer experience on top of cutting edge technologies such as Kubernetes and Vault. Additionally, you’ll be helping us build monitoring, management and alerting systems, dashboards, tracking systems and a myriad of other tools. Our goals include improving automating the operations side of software and providing a self-service runtime platform for Zendesk product engineering to leverage.

Work with and learn from a hardworking, talented group of senior engineers from a diverse set of backgrounds and varied experiences.
Collaborate on design and contribute code to both open-source and custom Kubernetes add-ons, Controllers, CRDs, runtime tooling, and more, with a focus on improving product engineer experience with our Kubernetes-based platform.
Help build and maintain tooling that improves engineers’ ability to debug, monitor, and manage their production workloads in a secure and compliant manner.
Contribute to respected open source projects such as the Kubernetes vertical pod autoscaler, descheduler, metrics-server, and more.

What you bring to the role:
Recent graduate of Computer Science or relevant experience.
Experience with GoLang and/or Ruby programming language(s).
Interest in working in a fast-paced environment with an agile mindset.
Willingness to respond in real-time to production incidents and/or support requests.
Desire to improve workflows and reduce toil through tooling and automation.
Strong ownership of your work, with the ability to estimate tasks with the help of the team, and then complete coding assignments with minimal supervision.
Consideration of the performance, security and compliance effect of code changes.
Readiness to learn about operationalizing code with proper tracing, metrics, error logging, monitoring and alerts.
