Duolingo

Use your expertise in English and Spanish to help Duolingo users learn better. Duolingo is looking for a YouTube enthusiast to help us source short clips for our new product. If you know CEFR levels, love to watch videos, and would like to get involved in the Duolingo content creation process, this position is perfect for you.

Responsibilities:

• Find English YouTube video clips to be used on the Duolingo app for educational purposes in a fun and engaging way.
• Transcribe these videos (add English captions).
• Add Spanish subtitles to these videos (translate English captions).
• If needed, add timestamps to captions and test videos on the app.

Requirements:

• Strong interest in the mission of Duolingo.
• Native fluency in both spoken and written English.
• Native or near-native fluency in both spoken and written Spanish.
• Linguistic training or familiarity with the CEFR levels.
• Language teaching experience.
• Ability to work 20-25 hours a week, as necessary.

Exceptional candidates will have:

• English to Spanish speakers teaching experience.
• Transcription experience.
• Video editing experience (mainly adding subtitles, captions, and timestamps).
