DevOps Engineer

RavenTek is looking for a DevOps Engineer to support the Veterans Affairs (VA), Austin Information Technology Center (AITC). The DevOps Engineer will provide technical support in system architecture, system design, system integration and technical management. The DevOps Engineer will assist in providing technical input to the systems engineering process. Will leads teams in developing application and technical plans. Guide customers in the installation and use of strategic products through education and guidance, first-use and tuning assistance problem solving and critical situation resolution.

Required Security Clearance: US Citizen or Green Card Holder with the ability to obtain a Public Trust

 

Qualifications Requirements:

• Work with IT developers to facilitate better coordination among operations, development, and testing functions by automating and streamlining the integration and deployment processes.

• Prepare test data, analyzing results, troubleshooting problems, and communicating issues back to development.

• Understand the basics of software development languages and is familiar with the development tools used to create new code or update existing code.

• Work with development staff to tackle the coding and scripting needed to connect elements of code, such as libraries or software development kits (SDKs) and integrates other components such as SQL data management or messaging tools that are needed to run the software release on operating systems and production infrastructure.

 

Required Education and Experience:

• Master’s Degree from an accredited college in a Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other engineering or technical discipline is required with 10 years of professional experience; or 10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.

• Certification in Azure or AWS Cloud.

• RedHat OpenShift 4.5 or above experience

• RedHat Quay/Clair experience

• CI/CD implementations in RedHat OpenShift 4.5 or above

• CI/CD implementation in Jenkins

• Site Recovery Engineering experience 

 

Preferred Experience: 

• IBM cloud pak for applications

• IBM cloud pak for multi cloud management

 

Employment Type: Full Time / Permanent 

 

Working Conditions: 

Business work hours are normally set from Monday through Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. Ad hoc telework is possible; limited to no more than 3 days a week.

 

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting for extended periods of time
