Job Description

Summary of Role:

• We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Enterprise Communications Services Web Technologies team. You will be an active participant integral to the success of our external face to the world (RTX.com) and our internal digital homeroom for our 195,000 employees – ensuring a personalized solution integrated with everything they need to work, grow, and belong. Working within an agile methodology, you’ll collaborate closely within the product team and key stakeholders across the enterprise, delivering real value in an iterative fashion on an on-going basis.

• You will join an agile team and participate in grooming and requirements gathering processes. You will participate in peer code reviews. The ideal candidate will be passionate about front-end development, and eager to leverage emerging technologies and patterns.

Responsibilities:

• As a Front End Developer you will implement designs for web applications. Your primarily responsibilities include:
  • Working with clients to develop the overall look and design of a website
  • Building front-end components and SPA's using in HTML, CSS, and Typescript
  • Ensuring websites are accessible across many platforms, including laptops and smartphones
  • Routinely testing websites for ease of use, speed and other quality factors
  • Fixing any website issues or bugs that arise

Experience/Qualifications:

• Building complex, stateful components and SPA's using React and vanilla TypeScript
• Using Typescript to write strongly-typed logic
• CSS, Flex layouts, Grid layouts
• Semantic and accessible HTML5
• Performant and airtight asynchrounous code
• Automated unit and browser testing
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Managing code with git

Education:

5 Years Experience with BS or BA Degree in a technical program

Or Advanced Degree with 3 years experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• In addition to the Qualifications listed above, additional interest is given to:
  • Internationalized design
  • Accessibility-first implementation
  • Node build tools like webpack, rollup, babel, and similar
  • SASS or LESS
  • BEM notation
  • Bootstrap
