The role
Our team is seeking an experienced SRE/DevOps Engineer willing to be a hands-on player-mentor with strong development and communication skills.
You will participate in developing infrastructural requirements, deployment, and performance tuning phases of software development, as well as analyzing current technology utilized within the company and helping develop steps and processes to improve and expand upon them.
Responsibilities
- Participate in discussions, analysis, design, and testing; solve complex technical problems; provide alternative methods for achieving goals when necessary.
- Provide strategic planning, guidance and make recommendations to senior team members on technical strategies and work with groups within the company to establish technical best practices, standards, policies and procedures.
- Monitor technology trends and evaluate emerging technologies and make recommendations on adoption and implementation.
- Ensure work completion within schedule, budgetary, and design constraints.
Your background and skills
- · 5+ years of experience working on a DevOps, Build, Infrastructure, or Platform Engineering team with a focus on cloud technologies
- 5+ years of experience leading technical projects with a team of engineers
- Container orchestration using Kubernetes required
- Cloud infrastructure monitoring systems including Prometheus
- Experience with ElasticSearch and MongoDB are a big plus
- Bachelors or Masters in CS, or equivalent experience
- Experience provisioning and configuring repeatable, highly available infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Chef, Ansible, etc.
- Proficient in Linux, Shell and Python
- Outstanding & proactive oral and written communication skills - with colleagues, mentees, and customers
- Experience with build automation, security and performance monitoring tools
- Hands-on attitude, while also maintaining a strategic view of gaps and execution plans
- Strong customer relationship skills, consensus building skills, and ability to establish effective working relationships in a diverse environment.
