Senior Software Developer

At Waymark, we’re on a mission to make great video accessible to everyone – by building powerful, intuitive products that make creative easy. To do so, we need to grow our small but mighty Development Team! We’re looking for a Senior Software Developer who is excited about bringing those creative tools to our customers. In this role you’ll expand the capabilities of our template creator that interfaces with the Adobe Creative Suite and is used by Motion Graphics Artists to create our growing collection of templates.
Responsibilities
Your responsibilities will include:
- Evolving our Waymark Studio product, this will entail a lot of interfacing with Creative Cloud products (primarily After Effects), cross-platform app distribution, likely lots of JavaScript. Think Sketch or Figma, but for Waymark video templates.
- Serving as a primary stakeholder and leader in the evolution of our video templating toolchain
- Working closely with our Creative and Product Teams to prioritize bugs, new After Effects features, and other aspects of the video templating toolchain
- Serving as a leader in video-related innovations and troubleshooting
Our technology stack:
- Client-side technologies: JavaScript, React, Redux, WebGL
- Server-side technologies: AWS (serverless such as, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.), Node.js, Rust
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Requirements for this role include:
- 4+ years development experience
- Expert knowledge and experience with Node.js
- Strong AWS (or similar) experience
- Eager to serve in a senior role on a development team
Nice-to-haves for this role include:
- WebGL or PixiJS experience a huge plus
- A strong understanding of video fundamentals (containers, codecs, framerates, oh my!)
- Strength in animation and/or animation tooling
- Full-Stack experience a plus
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe After Effects
